| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Lory L. Price was the first motorcycle State | ||||||
| 3 | patrolman to serve in southern Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Lory Price and his wife were kidnapped and | ||||||
| 5 | murdered by the notorious Charlie Birger Gang on January 17, | ||||||
| 6 | 1927; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Lory Price was honored on the National Law | ||||||
| 8 | Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C. for his sacrifice; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The bravery and dedication of Lory Price, as well | ||||||
| 10 | as the tragic manner in which he died, should be memorialized | ||||||
| 11 | in a befitting place and manner; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 13 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 14 | we designate the portion of State Highway 13 between Route 166 | ||||||
| 15 | and the Saline County line as the "Lory L. Price Memorial | ||||||
| 16 | Highway" in honor of the service and sacrifice of Lory L. | ||||||
| 17 | Price; and be it further
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 19 | presented to the Williamson County Historical Society.
