| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to recognize Apostle Richard | ||||||
| 4 | Daniel Henton on his 64 years in the ministry and 49 as pastor | ||||||
| 5 | of Monument of Faith Evangelistic Church; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Apostle Henton began his work in the ministry on | ||||||
| 7 | December 14th, 1948; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Apostle Henton is the founder of the R.D. Henton | ||||||
| 9 | Breakthrough Ministries which boasts close to 5,000 members; he | ||||||
| 10 | is the executive producer of the Breakthrough Telecast, a | ||||||
| 11 | weekly program that has aired on Sunday mornings for over 27 | ||||||
| 12 | years; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Apostle Henton as been the keynote speaker for | ||||||
| 14 | many ministries, including The Promise Keepers, Bishop T.D. | ||||||
| 15 | Jakes, Azusa with Bishop Carlton Pearson, Morris Cerrullo, | ||||||
| 16 | Bishop O.T. Jones Sr., Rev. R.W. Shambach, the late Bishop | ||||||
| 17 | Gilbert E. Patterson, Bishop Charles Blake, Moore House, and | ||||||
| 18 | many others; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Apostle Henton has held special services in | ||||||
| 20 | Chicago, where he was born, raised, and still resides; these | ||||||
| 21 | services often had to turn away people after the 10,000 seats | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | were filled at the University of Illinois-Chicago Pavilion; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Apostle Henton has 3 doctorate of divinity degrees | ||||||
| 3 | and has been the recipient of numerous certificates of merit, | ||||||
| 4 | letters from presidents, keys to many cities by their mayors, | ||||||
| 5 | and honored by congressmen and dignitaries; he received the | ||||||
| 6 | 2007 N'Digo Foundation Recipient of N'Faith Award and the 2007 | ||||||
| 7 | Luminary Senior Citizen Hall of Faith Award presented by Mayor | ||||||
| 8 | Richard M. Daley; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Apostle Henton is the father of 4 children who | ||||||
| 10 | work with him in his ministry; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, The celebration of Apostle Henton's milestones | ||||||
| 12 | will be held on June 17, 2013, at the Apostolic Church of God | ||||||
| 13 | in Chicago; therefore, be it

| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 15 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 16 | we recognize Apostle Henton as he celebrates 64 years in the | ||||||
| 17 | ministry and 49 years as pastor of Monument of Faith | ||||||
| 18 | Evangelistic Church and wish him all the best in his future | ||||||
| 19 | endeavours; and be it further
| ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 21 | presented to Apostle Henton as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
