| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Naperville Central | ||||||
| 4 | High School on earning 2nd place at the 2013 Illinois Personal | ||||||
| 5 | Finance Challenge (IPFC) State Finals; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Illinois Personal Finance Challenge State | ||||||
| 7 | Finals were held on April 22, 2013, at the Federal Reserve Bank | ||||||
| 8 | of Chicago; it involved 11 high school teams from 9 different | ||||||
| 9 | high schools advancing to compete for the championship title, | ||||||
| 10 | with Naperville Central earning a spot in the "Quiz Bowl" final | ||||||
| 11 | round of competition; tested topics included income & money | ||||||
| 12 | management, saving & investing, and spending & credit; nearly | ||||||
| 13 | 800 students statewide participated in the on-line preliminary | ||||||
| 14 | round of competition in March; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, The Illinois Personal Finance Challenge is | ||||||
| 16 | endorsed by the State Treasurer and takes place during Money | ||||||
| 17 | Smart Week in Chicago; the IPFC is designed to recognize | ||||||
| 18 | students who demonstrate high levels of comprehension and | ||||||
| 19 | application of personal finance concepts and skills and to | ||||||
| 20 | reward teachers for outstanding practices in teaching personal | ||||||
| 21 | finance courses; and

| 22 | WHEREAS, The Naperville Central team consisted of Gabe | ||||||

| 1 | Carrier, Arjun Singh, Jason Zhan, Hanyao Zhang, and their | ||||||
| 2 | teacher Eleanor Barbino; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 3 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 4 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 5 | we congratulate Naperville Central High School on earning 2nd | ||||||
| 6 | place at the 2013 Personal Finance Challenge State Finals; and | ||||||
