HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Naperville Central
4High School on earning 2nd place at the 2013 Illinois Personal
5Finance Challenge (IPFC) State Finals; and
6 WHEREAS, The Illinois Personal Finance Challenge State
7Finals were held on April 22, 2013, at the Federal Reserve Bank
8of Chicago; it involved 11 high school teams from 9 different
9high schools advancing to compete for the championship title,
10with Naperville Central earning a spot in the "Quiz Bowl" final
11round of competition; tested topics included income & money
12management, saving & investing, and spending & credit; nearly
13800 students statewide participated in the on-line preliminary
14round of competition in March; and
15 WHEREAS, The Illinois Personal Finance Challenge is
16endorsed by the State Treasurer and takes place during Money
17Smart Week in Chicago; the IPFC is designed to recognize
18students who demonstrate high levels of comprehension and
19application of personal finance concepts and skills and to
20reward teachers for outstanding practices in teaching personal
21finance courses; and
22 WHEREAS, The Naperville Central team consisted of Gabe

1Carrier, Arjun Singh, Jason Zhan, Hanyao Zhang, and their
2teacher Eleanor Barbino; therefore, be it
3 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5we congratulate Naperville Central High School on earning 2nd
6place at the 2013 Personal Finance Challenge State Finals; and
7be it further
8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to Naperville Central High School as an expression of
10our esteem and respect.
