| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Bob Zimmanck on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of his retirement from the District 214 Board of | ||||||
| 5 | Education after many years of dedicated service; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Bob Zimmanck was born on August 8, 1927; he has | ||||||
| 7 | been a resident of Arlington Heights since 1957; he and his | ||||||
| 8 | wife, May, have raised five children in Arlington Heights, who | ||||||
| 9 | all graduated from District 25 and District 214 schools; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Bob Zimmanck was elected to serve on the District | ||||||
| 11 | 214 Board of Education in November of 1987; he served as the | ||||||
| 12 | Board's President from 1991 to 1993 and from 2002 to 2004 and | ||||||
| 13 | as
the Board's Vice President from 1989 to 1991, 1996 to 1998, | ||||||
| 14 | and from 1999 to 2000; he is a member of Township High School | ||||||
| 15 | District 214's Insurance Committee and Wellness Committee; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Bob Zimmanck is the longest serving Board member | ||||||
| 17 | in the history of District 214; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Bob Zimmanck has served on the Northwest Suburban | ||||||
| 19 | Special Education Organization Governing Board since December | ||||||
| 20 | of 1987; he served as the organization's Vice President from | ||||||
| 21 | 1990 to 1992 and has served as President since 1995; he has | ||||||

| 1 | served as Vice Chairman of the
Illinois Association of School | ||||||
| 2 | Boards' North Cook Division Executive Committee since 2005; he | ||||||
| 3 | has also served as a volunteer on the Arlington Heights | ||||||
| 4 | Frontier Days Committee since 1981; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Bob Zimmanck has earned numerous recognitions for | ||||||
| 6 | his work, including the Illinois Association of School Boards' | ||||||
| 7 | Master School Board Member designation, the Illinois State | ||||||
| 8 | Board of Education Excellence Award in 1993, and the Volunteer | ||||||
| 9 | Center Leadership Achievement Award in 2004; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Bob Zimmanck serves as a model of hard work, | ||||||
| 11 | integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of | ||||||
| 12 | Illinois; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 14 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 15 | we congratulate Bob Zimmanck on the occasion of his retirement | ||||||
| 16 | and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it | ||||||
| 17 | further

| 18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 19 | presented to Bob Zimmanck as a symbol of our esteem and | ||||||
