HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives wish to congratulate Palermo Bakery and its
owners on the occasion of their 20th anniversary; and
WHEREAS, In 2001, Joe and Paula Greco, along with Paula's
brother Loretto, purchased Palermo Bakery, planning to deliver
authentic Sicilian baked goods to the Chicagoland area; and
WHEREAS, Palermo Bakery is inspired by the town of
Altavilla Milicia on the north coast of Sicily in the province
of Palermo, the place from which Joe Greco inherited the
tradition of baking from his grandfather; and
WHEREAS, Palermo Bakery quickly developed a reputation for
providing the finest Sicilian pastry making, as well as for
bringing a genuine Sicilian atmosphere to the community; and
WHEREAS, Palermo Bakery's success led to expansion and the
relocation to Norridge in 2014, where its cookies, pastries,
cakes, and other baked goods continue to be made by scratch;
and
WHEREAS, Palermo Bakery and its specialties have become
integral to many local weddings, holidays, and neighborhood

celebrations; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
we congratulate Palermo Bakery and its owners on its 20th
anniversary, thank them for their work in the community, and
wish them many more successful years; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to Palermo Bakery as a symbol of our respect and
esteem.
