| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Diana M. Law on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of being selected to serve as president of the Kane | ||||||
| 5 | County Bar Association; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Diana Law is a partner in the Aurora elder law | ||||||
| 7 | firm of Law ElderLaw, LLP, a practice that focuses on serving | ||||||
| 8 | seniors and those who love them; she serves as the manager of | ||||||
| 9 | the firm's legal team and works on cases involving | ||||||
| 10 | guardianship, estate planning, special needs trusts, nursing | ||||||
| 11 | home Medicaid advocacy, wartime veterans' long term care | ||||||
| 12 | benefits, trust/estate/probate/guardianship litigation, and | ||||||
| 13 | probate administration; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Diana Law is the president-elect of the | ||||||
| 15 | 1,345-member Kane County Bar Association (KCBA); she will be | ||||||
| 16 | installed as the youngest president in the history of the | ||||||
| 17 | association on June 2, 2011; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Diana Law is the co-chair of the KCBA Delivery of | ||||||
| 19 | Legal Services/Pro Bono Committee; as a member of the National | ||||||
| 20 | Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), she frequently serves | ||||||
| 21 | on the planning committee for their national conferences; she | ||||||
| 22 | also actively serves on the Illinois State Bar Association's | ||||||

| 1 | Elder Law Council and Women and the Law Committee; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Diana Law is a highly regarded presenter of | ||||||
| 3 | continuing legal education seminars for the Illinois State Bar | ||||||
| 4 | Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the National Academy | ||||||
| 5 | of Elder Law Attorneys, the Kane County Bar Association, the | ||||||
| 6 | McHenry County Bar Association, and the Joint Task Force for | ||||||
| 7 | Women as They Age; she has also enjoyed presenting seminars to | ||||||
| 8 | hospital and nursing home staffs, financial advisors, and | ||||||
| 9 | social workers; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Diana Law serves as co-chair of the Task Force for | ||||||
| 11 | Senior Fairness, a task force comprised of elder law firms | ||||||
| 12 | throughout Illinois and the Cook County Public Guardian's | ||||||
| 13 | Office; the organization seeks to provide political advocacy to | ||||||
| 14 | safeguard Illinois citizens who may need Medicaid nursing home | ||||||
| 15 | benefits; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Diana Law was named the Illinois State Bar | ||||||
| 17 | Association's Young Lawyer of the Year for 2010, an award given | ||||||
| 18 | to only two individuals each year; she has been selected in a | ||||||
| 19 | statewide survey of Illinois attorneys as a "Super Lawyer | ||||||
| 20 | Rising Star" in elder law; she was also selected as a top elder | ||||||
| 21 | law attorney for 2010-2011 by the Leading Lawyers Network; and
| ||||||
| 22 | WHEREAS, Diana Law serves as a model of hard work, | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of | ||||||
| 2 | Illinois; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 3 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 4 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 5 | we congratulate Diana M. Law on the occasion of being selected | ||||||
| 6 | to serve as president of the Kane County Bar Association and | ||||||
| 7 | wish her continued success in the future; and be it further
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 9 | presented to Diana Law as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
