HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives wish to honor De La Salle High School's Ricardo
Ramirez on his athletic and academic accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, Ricardo Ramirez is the son of immigrants from
Mexico and has immersed himself in American culture and sports,
including baseball; and
WHEREAS, Ricardo Ramirez has seen success in the classroom
as well as on the baseball field; he is ranked fifth in his
senior class and has earned a baseball scholarship to the
University of Illinois-Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Ricardo Ramirez is the captain of his baseball
team, the De La Salle High School Meteors, and sets an example
for the rest of his teammates by rising at 5 AM to lift
weights; and
WHEREAS, Ricardo Ramirez has a stringent work ethic,
instilled by his family, that has helped him along the way to
achieving his goals; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

we honor Ricardo Ramirez on his accomplishments, both athletic
and academic, and wish him all the best as he attends the
University of Illinois-Chicago; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to Ricardo Ramirez as an expression of our esteem and
respect.
