| 2 | WHEREAS, State Representative Monique D. Davis and the | ||||||
| 3 | Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate | ||||||
| 4 | President Obama and the members of his administration for | ||||||
| 5 | successfully bringing Osama bin Laden to justice; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, On May 1, 2011, President Obama announced to the | ||||||
| 7 | world that U.S. soldiers had successfully found and killed | ||||||
| 8 | Osama bin Laden, leader of the Al-Qaida terrorist network; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Through his actions, the President has helped | ||||||
| 10 | provide a long-desired moment of closure for the American | ||||||
| 11 | people and all those affected by the horrors of the attacks on | ||||||
| 12 | September 11, 2001; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 14 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 15 | we congratulate President Obama and the members of his | ||||||
| 16 | administration for successfully bringing Osama bin Laden to | ||||||
| 17 | justice and honor them for their continued efforts to secure | ||||||
| 18 | our nation and eradicate terrorism throughout the world; and be | ||||||
| 19 | it further

| 20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 21 | presented to President Obama as a symbol of our esteem and | ||||||
