| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of William | ||||||
| 4 | "Bill" James Carothers; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, William Carothers was born in Chicago to Walter | ||||||
| 6 | and Albenda Carothers; he attended Grant Elementary School, | ||||||
| 7 | McKinley High
School, and Herzel Junior College; he married | ||||||
| 8 | Roberta Sims in 1952; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, William Carothers was employed by
International | ||||||
| 10 | Harvester & Company, I. C. Supermarket, and the City of
| ||||||
| 11 | Chicago; he was finally employed by
Habilitation Systems, Inc. | ||||||
| 12 | for over 20 years; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, William Carothers served as ward committeeman and | ||||||
| 14 | alderman
for the 28th ward of the City of Chicago; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, William Carothers was a member of Original | ||||||
| 16 | Providence Baptist Church
for over 60 years, where he served as | ||||||
| 17 | a trustee for over 30 years; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, William Carothers was preceded in death
by his | ||||||
| 19 | parents; all his siblings; his son, Gregory; and his daughters,
| ||||||
| 20 | Pamela and Colette; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, William Carothers is survived by his wife, | ||||||
| 2 | Roberta; his
sons, Isaac (Sharron), William Jr., and Anthony | ||||||
| 3 | (Kathie); three grandsons; five granddaughters; many | ||||||
| 4 | great-grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; | ||||||
| 5 | his sisters-in-law, Anita, Cora, and Yvonne; his son-in-law, | ||||||
| 6 | Louis; and his
entire Original Providence Baptist Church | ||||||
| 7 | family; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 9 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 10 | mourn the passing of William "Bill" James Carothers, and extend | ||||||
| 11 | our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who | ||||||
| 12 | knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 14 | presented to the family of William Carothers as an expression | ||||||
| 15 | of our deepest sympathy.
