| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Jim Shook on his | ||||||
| 4 | retirement from the Round Lake Area Park District Board; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Jim Shook began his time on the Round Lake Area | ||||||
| 6 | Park District Board on January 14, 1988; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, He served on numerous State-level boards and | ||||||
| 8 | committees for the Illinois Association of Park Districts and | ||||||
| 9 | was awarded the Commissioner of the Year award from the | ||||||
| 10 | Illinois Association of Park Districts in 2003; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, During his time on the Park District Board many | ||||||
| 12 | projects were completed, including: the Nature Center, the | ||||||
| 13 | Aquatic Center, the Fitness Center, two Skate Parks, the Site | ||||||
| 14 | II Child Development Center, the Teen Center, the golf course | ||||||
| 15 | clubhouse, the Sports Center, an expansion of the Community | ||||||
| 16 | Center, and a warming house and concession stand were | ||||||
| 17 | completed; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Jim Shook is active in his church, helping in | ||||||
| 19 | local causes and traveling to the Southern United States to | ||||||
| 20 | help with hurricane relief; he has served as a youth and school | ||||||
| 21 | district sports coach in basketball, track, and baseball; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Jim Shook is a retired school teacher from Round | ||||||
| 2 | Lake Area School District 116; he has three children and six | ||||||
| 3 | grandchildren; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 5 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 6 | congratulate Jim Shook and wish him all the best in his future | ||||||
| 7 | endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 9 | presented to Jim Shook as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
