| 2 | WHEREAS, U.S. News & World Report reviewed nearly 5,000 | ||||||
| 3 | hospitals in 16 adult specialties and 10 pediatric specialties | ||||||
| 4 | in order to determine the country's "Best Regional Hospitals"; | ||||||
| 5 | and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Of 53 hospitals in the St. Louis/Illinois | ||||||
| 7 | metropolitan area, 15 hospitals were listed as the best | ||||||
| 8 | hospitals; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, To be recognized as a "Best Regional Hospital", a | ||||||
| 10 | hospital must score in the top 25% among its peers in at least | ||||||
| 11 | one of 16 medical specialties; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Anderson Hospital is a general medical and | ||||||
| 13 | surgical hospital in Maryville; it performed nearly at the | ||||||
| 14 | level of nationally ranked "U.S. News Best Hospitals" in one | ||||||
| 15 | adult specialty; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Anderson Hospital is a 151 bed not-for-profit | ||||||
| 17 | facility with over 1,000 staff members, 240 medical staff | ||||||
| 18 | members, and over 200 members of the auxiliary; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Anderson Hospital had 7,732 admissions in the most | ||||||
| 20 | recent year for which data is available; it performed 2,844 | ||||||

| 1 | annual inpatient and 8,683 outpatient surgeries; Anderson's | ||||||
| 2 | emergency room had 33,476 visits and is accredited by the Joint | ||||||
| 3 | Commission (JC) and the Commission on Accreditation of | ||||||
| 4 | Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF); and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, U.S. News & World Report ranked Anderson Hospital | ||||||
| 6 | as the 12th "Best Regional Hospital" in the St. Louis/Illinois | ||||||
| 7 | metropolitan area; therefore, be it

| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 9 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 10 | we recognize Anderson Hospital for its achievements and | ||||||
| 11 | exemplary work resulting in obtaining the U.S. News & World | ||||||
| 12 | Report ranking as the "12th Best Regional Hospital"; and be it | ||||||
| 13 | further

| 14 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 15 | presented to Anderson Hospital as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
