| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Systems Act | ||||||
| 3 | created EMS regions and minimum standards for the statewide | ||||||
| 4 | delivery of EMS services; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, There is a lack of funding for emergency medical | ||||||
| 6 | services within this State; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, EMS operations can mean the difference between | ||||||
| 8 | life and death; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 10 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 11 | there is created the House Task Force on Emergency Medical | ||||||
| 12 | Services Funding consisting of 24 members, 12 to be appointed | ||||||
| 13 | by the Speaker (one being named as co-chair by Speaker) and 12 | ||||||
| 14 | to be appointed by the Minority Leader (one being named as | ||||||
| 15 | co-chair by Minority Leader); and be it further
| ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, That the Task Force is created to formulate | ||||||
| 17 | practical, timely, and strategic guidance on how to improve | ||||||
| 18 | equipment, funding, training, manpower, cost savings, and | ||||||
| 19 | communications with regard to emergency medical services | ||||||
| 20 | within this State; and be it further
| ||||||

| 1 | RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall meet with various | ||||||
| 2 | emergency medical service stakeholders and make | ||||||
| 3 | recommendations concerning ways in which emergency medical | ||||||
| 4 | service functions in this State can be assisted and improved; | ||||||
| 5 | and be it further
| ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, That the Department of Public Health shall | ||||||
| 7 | provide administrative support to the Task Force; and be it | ||||||
| 8 | further
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall submit its | ||||||
| 10 | recommendations in a report, by January 1, 2012, to the General | ||||||
| 11 | Assembly; and be it further
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 13 | presented to the Director of Public Health.
