2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Bishop Mark A. Moore Sr. | ||||||
4 | on the occasion of his installation as pastor of Indiana | ||||||
5 | Avenue Pentecostal Church of God in Chicago; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Indiana Avenue Pentecostal Church of God, one of | ||||||
7 | Chicago's most historic Pentecostal Churches, was established | ||||||
8 | in 1934; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, A fourth-generation preacher, Bishop Moore was | ||||||
10 | elected to be the fourth pastor in succession of Indiana | ||||||
11 | Avenue Pentecostal Church of God on September 1, 2022; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Bishop Moore earned his Bachelor of Arts in | ||||||
13 | Comparative Study of World Religions from Harvard College in | ||||||
14 | Cambridge, Massachusetts; he was ordained in the Pentecostal | ||||||
15 | Assemblies of the World in 1985; and

16 | WHEREAS, Bishop Moore served as a national evangelist from | ||||||
17 | 1989 to 1991, during which he traveled extensively throughout | ||||||
18 | the United States, ministering in churches of various sizes; | ||||||
19 | and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Bishop Moore previously served as the pastor of |

1 | Zion Temple Church in Havre De Grace, Maryland from 1992 to | ||||||
2 | 2001; during his tenure, the congregation experienced a 300% | ||||||
3 | increase in attendance and substantial spiritual and financial | ||||||
4 | growth; he was the founding pastor of Faith Covenant Church of | ||||||
5 | Jesus Christ in Decatur, Georgia in 1996, serving until 2022; | ||||||
6 | and

7 | WHEREAS, Bishop Moore was consecrated to the office of | ||||||
8 | bishop at the World Assemblies of Restoration in Baltimore, | ||||||
9 | Maryland in 2010; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Bishop Moore will lead Indiana Avenue Pentecostal | ||||||
11 | Church of God beside his wife, Dr. Shirley Ann Moore; they are | ||||||
12 | the parents of three young adults, Pastor Mark Moore Jr., | ||||||
13 | George David Moore, and Sharon Alise Moore; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Bishop Moore will be installed at an official | ||||||
15 | pastoral installation service at the Indiana Avenue | ||||||
16 | Pentecostal Church of God in Chicago on April 29, 2023; | ||||||
17 | therefore, be it

18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
19 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
20 | we congratulate Bishop Mark A. Moore Sr. on his installation | ||||||
21 | as pastor of Indiana Avenue Pentecostal Church of God, and we | ||||||
22 | wish him the best in his new position; and be it further
