| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate The Edge Eatery & | ||||||
| 4 | Drinkatorium in
Rapids City on being crowned the
nationwide | ||||||
| 5 | Dive Bar Road Trip champion; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Dive Bar Road Trip is a fun competition that | ||||||
| 7 | provides local and small
businesses with a chance to gain | ||||||
| 8 | recognition for their establishment and community; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Facebook was used as the voting platform and | ||||||
| 10 | incorporated the format of the NCAA Men's
Tournament for the | ||||||
| 11 | annual "March
Dive-ness" competition; a total of
93,636 votes | ||||||
| 12 | were cast in the starting
field, Sweet & Sour 16, Elite 8, | ||||||
| 13 | Final
Pour, and championship brackets; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, In the final round, The Edge Eatery & | ||||||
| 15 | Drinkatorium competed against Farmers Home Tavern in
Hemlock, | ||||||
| 16 | Michigan, edging it out for
the No. 1 spot with 7,005 to 6,655 | ||||||
| 17 | votes; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Since the win, there has been a noticeable influx | ||||||
| 19 | of patrons to
The Edge Eatery & Drinkatorium; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Owners Lynn
and Donnie Hunt are grateful to the

| 1 | community for supporting their local dive bar for this | ||||||
| 2 | one-of-a-kind competition; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, The Edge Eatery & Drinkatorium will mark 10 years | ||||||
| 4 | in business in July 2023, and they are working on a
summer | ||||||
| 5 | celebration to mark the occasion and their new
claim to fame; | ||||||
| 6 | therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 8 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 9 | we congratulate The Edge Eatery & Drinkatorium in
Rapids City | ||||||
| 10 | on being crowned the
nationwide Dive Bar Road Trip champion; | ||||||
| 11 | and be it further
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
