| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the William Fremd High | ||||||
| 4 | School girls basketball team, the Vikings, of Palatine on the | ||||||
| 5 | team's unbelievable season; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, In March of 2020, the Vikings closed their | ||||||
| 7 | amazing 30-7 season with their first ever 4A state | ||||||
| 8 | championship in program history; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The Vikings took their incredible run into the | ||||||
| 10 | postseason with some big wins; they beat Lake Park in the | ||||||
| 11 | semi-finals with a score of 46-37; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, In the super-sectional game, the Vikings found | ||||||
| 13 | themselves playing against the defending state champions, | ||||||
| 14 | Maine-West; they beat the defending champs by a score of | ||||||
| 15 | 57-49; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, In the state final game, the Vikings were set to | ||||||
| 17 | play against Lincoln-Way West; this match-up did not deter the | ||||||
| 18 | Vikings; led by their First-team All-State guard Emily | ||||||
| 19 | Klaczek, who garnered 20 points and 9 rebounds, the Vikings | ||||||
| 20 | secured their first state title with a score of 58-47; | ||||||
