HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The administration of St. Elizabeth's Hospital in
Belleville recently unveiled its own version of the economic
stimulus program; and
WHEREAS, Over the next several months the Hospital will
distribute over $100,000 to its 1,750 employees through a
series of programs to help stimulate the Belleville economy;
and
WHEREAS, By combining National Hospital Week and National
Nurses Week activities, the hospital found itself saving money,
and made the decision to help the local economy by giving cash
rewards, discounts cards, and other perks to its employees to
help stimulate the Belleville downtown economy; and
WHEREAS, The hospital will give $20 in cash to its 1,750
employees and volunteers on February 25, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Both the hospital employees and the downtown
Belleville merchants are excited about this innovative idea to
help the local economy; and
WHEREAS, February 26, 2009 will be recognized as St.
Elizabeth's Hospital Employees' Appreciation Day in the City of

Belleville; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
congratulate the administration, staff, and volunteers of St.
Elizabeth's Hospital on this great idea to strengthen the local
economy; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to Kevin Shrake, President and CEO of St. Elizabeth's
Hospital, as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
