| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate James D. | ||||||
| 4 | MacArthur, Fire Chief of the Itasca Fire Protection District | ||||||
| 5 | No. 1, on his retirement; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, He has served the Itasca Fire Protection District | ||||||
| 7 | for the past eight years; prior to his service there he served | ||||||
| 8 | with the Elk Grove Village Fire Department for thirty years, | ||||||
| 9 | fifteen of thos years as the Chief; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, He is a former President of the Illinois Fire | ||||||
| 11 | Chiefs Association, the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association, | ||||||
| 12 | and the Northeast Illinois Fire Chiefs Association; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, He is currently a Director of the DuPage County | ||||||
| 14 | Fire Chiefs Association and serves as a member of the DuPage | ||||||
| 15 | County 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System Board; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Chief MacArthur, along with other members of the | ||||||
| 17 | Illinois Fire Fighter Life Service Task Force, went to New | ||||||
| 18 | Orleans in 2005 to assist in relief efforts after the | ||||||
| 19 | devastation of Hurricane Katrina; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Chief MacArthur's dedication and hard work have | ||||||

| 1 | made Illinois a safer and better place; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 2 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 3 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 4 | we congratulate Chief James MacArthur on his retirement and | ||||||
| 5 | wish him all the best in his future endeavors; and be it | ||||||
| 6 | further

| 7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 8 | presented to James MacArthur as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
