| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives are | ||||||
| 3 | saddened to learn of the death of Enzo Tribo, the founder of | ||||||
| 4 | Enzo's and CarmelCorn, who passed away leaving a lasting | ||||||
| 5 | legacy in the Chicago Heights community; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Enzo Tribo was known for his Italian beef and | ||||||
| 7 | caramel corn, and his business was a staple in the city and one | ||||||
| 8 | of the last remaining landmarks in its once-vibrant downtown | ||||||
| 9 | before it closed in 2024; his store and the Carmelcorn shop | ||||||
| 10 | were his pride and joy, and he poured his heart and soul into | ||||||
| 11 | making them special places; his wife ran the CarmelCorn shop | ||||||
| 12 | while he operated the Italian beef establishment that had | ||||||
| 13 | served the community since 1946; later, the two businesses | ||||||
| 14 | merged to become Enzo's and CarmelCorn; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Enzo Tribo was a true icon in the community, | ||||||
| 16 | known for his warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering | ||||||
| 17 | dedication to serving the best Italian beef and sausage; his | ||||||
| 18 | passion for his craft and his love for the community were | ||||||
| 19 | evident in everything he did; he was a friend to all who walked | ||||||
| 20 | through his door; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Enzo Tribo and his wife, Nita "Mrs. CarmelCorn" | ||||||
| 22 | Tribo, were married for 63 years before her passing, and | ||||||

| 1 | together, they raised four children, John Tribo, Lisa | ||||||
| 2 | Hallberg, Robert Tribo, and Renee Gough; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Enzo Tribo and his wife were also avid antique | ||||||
| 4 | hunters and enjoyed the stories that could be imagined about | ||||||
| 5 | the items they found; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 7 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 8 | we mourn the passing of Enzo Tribo and extend our sincere | ||||||
| 9 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
| 10 | him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 12 | presented to the family of Enzo Tribo as an expression of our | ||||||
| 13 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
