HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives are pleased to recognize the 70th anniversary
of the United Service Organization; and
WHEREAS, The USO is one of the premier service
organizations dedicated to supporting the men and women in the
United States military who fight selflessly for our continued
freedom; and
WHEREAS, The organization raises money and collects items
to send overseas to those actively serving in the United States
Army in order to increase troop morale and offer a respite to
the atrocities of war; and
WHEREAS, February 4, 2011 marks the 70th anniversary of the
USO's founding; and
WHEREAS, For seven decades, the USO has worked tirelessly
to provide concrete services to those proudly serving our
country, including free phone calls and care packages;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

we congratulate the many participants in the United Service
Organization and its worthy causes, and wish the organization
continued prosperity for years to come; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the organizers of the USO as a symbol of our
respect and esteem.
