HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mary
4Davis O'Brien; and
5 WHEREAS, Mary Davis O'Brien celebrated her 90th birthday in
6December 2012; she married Daniel Patrick O'Brien Sr. in 1944
7and moved to Chicago where they raised a family of 6; and
8 WHEREAS, Mary Davis O'Brien and her husband, Dan, were
9co-founders of the O'Brien businesses; they had businesses in
10real estate, restaurants, and in the nursing home industry;
11they loved being partners in work as well as partners in life;
12and
13 WHEREAS, Mary Davis O'Brien was the dearly beloved wife of
14the late Daniel Patrick O'Brien Sr.; devoted mother of Maureen
15O'Brien, Margaret (Richard) O'Brien Schulze, Peter (Mary)
16O'Brien Sr., and the late Honorable Daniel P. (Susan) O'Brien
17Jr., former Cook County Commissioner, Illinois State Senator,
18and Illinois State Representative, the late Kathleen (Charles)
19O'Brien Stumpf and the late Patricia O'Brien; loving
20grandmother of Daniel O'Brien III, Kevin (Alpha) Willis, Brien
21Willis, Katie Willis-Morton, Bridget Stumpf, Charles Stumpf,
22Jim (Michelle) West, Courtney (David) Blaskovich, Brad

1(Elizabeth) West, Derek (Emily) Schulze, Jeffrey Mandalis,

7 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we mourn the passing of Mary Davis O'Brien, and extend our
10sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
11and loved her; and be it further
12 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Mary Davis O'Brien as an expression
14of our deepest sympathy.
