| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Robert W. Smith on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of his retirement from the Harrisburg City Police | ||||||
| 5 | Department after over 25 years of service; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Robert Smith joined the Harrisburg City Police | ||||||
| 7 | Department on April 16, 1991; he was promoted to Sergeant on | ||||||
| 8 | February 16, 1999 and to Chief of Police on May 16, 2007; he | ||||||
| 9 | stepped down from his position as Chief on May 7, 2015; he | ||||||
| 10 | returned to duty as a Sergeant, retiring on December 16, 2016; | ||||||
| 11 | and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Robert Smith served as the Lead Homicide | ||||||
| 13 | Detective; he also served as a Training Officer and holds many | ||||||
| 14 | certifications; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Robert Smith began the Shop With a Cop program for | ||||||
| 16 | the City of Harrisburg; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Robert Smith and his wife, Kimberly, reside in | ||||||
| 18 | Harrisburg; they have two sons, Jantsen R. Smith, and Garrett | ||||||
| 19 | W. Smith; therefore, be it

| 20 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||

| 1 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 2 | congratulate Robert W. Smith on his retirement from the | ||||||
| 3 | Harrisburg City Police Department after over 25 years of | ||||||
| 4 | service, and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; | ||||||
| 5 | and be it further
