2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Aubrey | ||||||
4 | Latrell O'Bryant Sr. of North Chicago, who passed away on | ||||||
5 | January 17, 2023; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Aubrey O'Bryant was born to Clarence "Skip" and | ||||||
7 | Lavora "Poochie" O'Bryant in Waukegan on January 25, 1969; he | ||||||
8 | was educated in the school districts of both Waukegan and | ||||||
9 | North Chicago before graduating from Carmel High School in | ||||||
10 | Mundelein in 1987; he joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving as | ||||||
11 | a reservist for three years; he attended Lake Forest College; | ||||||
12 | he married Melinda Crump in 1996; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Aubrey O'Bryant had many titles and wore many | ||||||
14 | hats, including serving the North Chicago Police Department; | ||||||
15 | he also worked at North Chicago Community High School (NCCHS), | ||||||
16 | where he became known as "Coach Brey" and "Unc" to many | ||||||
17 | students; he absolutely loved his job and being around the | ||||||
18 | students; he enjoyed being a part of both their athletic and | ||||||
19 | personal lives in order to help in any way he could and to have | ||||||
20 | a positive impact; he loved coaching, no matter the sport; and
| ||||||
21 | WHEREAS, Aubrey O'Bryant enjoyed spending time with his | ||||||
22 | family and friends, making sure everyone had a good time; he |

1 | loved fishing, cooking, and cleaning his truck; he was always | ||||||
2 | ready for a party hosted by his favorite DJ, DJ X; he also | ||||||
3 | loved dogs, and his latest hobby was training his dog, PAETO, | ||||||
4 | with his friend, Shaan Huntley; and

5 | WHEREAS, Aubrey O'Bryant went by many names, including | ||||||
6 | "Big Brey", "Dad", and "Unc", but he especially enjoyed going | ||||||
7 | by "Papi", because he adored his grandchildren; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Aubrey O'Bryant was preceded in death by his son, | ||||||
9 | Philip Taylor O'Bryant; his grandmother, Clara Adams; and his | ||||||
10 | grandfathers, Floyd Adams and Clarence O'Bryant; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Aubrey O'Bryant is survived by his wife, Melinda | ||||||
12 | "Slim" Crump-O'Bryant; his children, Aubrey O'Bryant II, | ||||||
13 | Mariah Crump-O'Bryant, Paige O'Bryant, and Cydney O'Bryant; | ||||||
14 | his parents; his grandmother, Betty O'Bryant; his siblings, | ||||||
15 | Ramara O'Bryant and Evan O'Bryant; his granddaughters, | ||||||
16 | Aubrielle "Yella" O'Bryant, Madison "Cheeky" O'Bryant, Melody | ||||||
17 | "Skrimp" Neyland, and Malaiya "2Pac" Neyland; his grandsons, | ||||||
18 | Damarian "Boog" O'Bryant, Parker O'Bryant, Zandon O'Bryant, | ||||||
19 | Kyree "Tank" O'Bryant, Elijah "Eli" O'Bryant, Landon "Keebler" | ||||||
20 | O'Bryant, and Nathan "Nate Dawg" O'Bryant; his parents-in-law, | ||||||
21 | Lenory and Theoplis Brown; his five sisters-in-law; and a host | ||||||
22 | of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime | ||||||

2 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
3 | we mourn the passing of Aubrey Latrell O'Bryant Sr. and extend | ||||||
4 | our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who | ||||||
5 | knew and loved him; and be it further

6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to the family of Aubrey O'Bryant as an expression of | ||||||
8 | our deepest sympathy.
