| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Bank of Herrin | ||||||
| 4 | President Carl Goodwin on his retirement; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, He began his career working after school in the | ||||||
| 6 | bookkeeping department of the bank; after college and 2 years | ||||||
| 7 | serving with the United States Army, he worked at The Bank of | ||||||
| 8 | Egypt in Marion, working through the ranks from assistant | ||||||
| 9 | cashier, to cashier, to Vice President and Cashier; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, He joined the Bank of Herrin in October of 1990 as | ||||||
| 11 | vice president and cashier; he became executive vice president | ||||||
| 12 | and CEO, trust officer and when his father stepped down as | ||||||
| 13 | president, was promoted to president and trust officer; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Carl Goodwin is a graduate of the Illinois Banks | ||||||
| 15 | Association Banking School at Southern Illinois University, | ||||||
| 16 | the ABA Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin, the | ||||||
| 17 | Cannon Trust School, and the ABA National Trust School at | ||||||
| 18 | Northwestern University; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, He will serve as President Emeritus and bank | ||||||
| 20 | director and will be available if needed during the transition | ||||||
| 21 | process; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, He will spend more time with his wife, Cookie, | ||||||
| 2 | upon retirement, enjoying time with their children and | ||||||
| 3 | grandchildren; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 5 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 6 | we congratulate Carl Goodwin on his retirement and wish him all | ||||||
| 7 | the best in his future endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 9 | presented to Carl Goodwin as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
| 10 | esteem.
