2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Lillian | ||||||
4 | Marie "Lady B" Bonner, who passed away on December 26, 2022; | ||||||
5 | and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Lillian Bonner was born to William and Beatrice | ||||||
7 | Jarrett in Alton on August 19, 1950; she graduated from Alton | ||||||
8 | Senior High School in 1967; she married Charles Edward Bonner | ||||||
9 | at the Greater Mount Olive Church of God in Christ on July 19, | ||||||
10 | 1975; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Lillian Bonner started her career at Illinois | ||||||
12 | Youth Center Warrenville in 1983; she retired in 2002, leaving | ||||||
13 | behind a legacy of wisdom,
kindness, love, and lifelong | ||||||
14 | friendships; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Lillian Bonner committed to her faith at an early | ||||||
16 | age, and she was a lifelong member of the Great Mount Olive | ||||||
17 | Church of God in Christ; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Lillian Bonner was a fashionista who loved | ||||||
19 | shopping and finding the best bargains, and she regularly | ||||||
20 | shopped with friends while visiting Marshalls, TJ Maxx, | ||||||
21 | Macy's, and other stores; and

1 | WHEREAS, Lillian Bonner was affectionately known as "Nana" | ||||||
2 | to her grandchildren; she will be remembered for her | ||||||
3 | intelligence, wisdom, undeniable beauty, and beautiful singing | ||||||
4 | voice; and

5 | WHEREAS, Lillian Bonner was preceded in death by her | ||||||
6 | husband; her parents; her father-in-law, Bishop William Haven | ||||||
7 | Bonner; her mother-in-law, Mother Dorothy Mae Bonner; her | ||||||
8 | brother, Lemoyndue Jarrett; and her aunts, uncles, cousins, | ||||||
9 | and nephews; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Lillian Bonner is survived by her daughter, | ||||||
11 | Natalie Bonner; her granddaughter, Noelle Pryor; her grandson, | ||||||
12 | Nathan Bonner-Jones; her siblings, Willa Bennett, William | ||||||
13 | Jarrett, and Verrell Harley; her sisters-in-law, Willie Etta | ||||||
14 | (Augustus) Wright and Dorothy (Gregory) Jones; her | ||||||
15 | goddaughters, Autum Newson, Lisa Jones, LaWonna Berry, and | ||||||
16 | Artese Chaney; her chosen sisters, Mary Holland, Christine | ||||||
17 | Brannon, Maxine Crim, Glenda Barnes, Rowena Walton, and Ruth | ||||||
18 | Green; her many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family | ||||||
19 | members, friends, and co-workers; therefore, be it

20 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
21 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
22 | we mourn the passing of
Lillian Marie "Lady B" Bonner and |
