Bill Title: Proposes to amend the Legislature and Executive Articles of the Illinois Constitution. Provides that a person may not be elected to the office of State Senator or State Representative, or a combination of those offices, for terms totalling more than 10 years; service before the second Wednesday in January of 2019 shall not be considered in the calculation of a person's service. Provides that a person may not be elected to any Executive Branch office, or any combination of Executive Branch offices, for terms totalling more than 8 years; service before the second Monday in January of 2019 shall not be considered in the calculation of a person's service.

2 | SECTION 2. TERMS
| ||||||
3 | These elected officers of the Executive Branch shall hold | ||||||
4 | office for
four years beginning on the second Monday of January | ||||||

election and, except in the case of the Lieutenant | ||||||
6 | Governor, until their
successors are qualified. They shall be | ||||||
7 | elected at the general election
in 1978 and every four years | ||||||
8 | thereafter. A person may not be elected to any Executive Branch | ||||||
9 | office, or any combination of Executive Branch offices, for | ||||||
10 | terms totalling more than 8 years. Service before the second | ||||||
11 | Monday in January of 2019 shall not be considered in the | ||||||

15 | This Constitutional Amendment takes effect upon being | ||||||
16 | declared adopted in accordance with Section 7 of the Illinois | ||||||
