| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Bellwood Mayor Frank A. | ||||||
| 4 | Pasquale on the occasion of his retirement after over 40 years | ||||||
| 5 | of public service; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Mayor Pasquale served as a Village Trustee for six | ||||||
| 7 | years, a Memorial Park
District Commissioner for 20 years, and | ||||||
| 8 | as Mayor for 15 years; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Before becoming an elected official, Mayor | ||||||
| 10 | Pasquale served his community
as an educator, and he never lost | ||||||
| 11 | his passion of learning and teaching; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, As an elected official, Mayor Pasquale earned a | ||||||
| 13 | reputation for being an exemplary
and tenacious leader; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, During his time in office, Mayor Pasquale served | ||||||
| 15 | as the
Chairman of the Addison Creek Restoration Commission; | ||||||
| 16 | charged with finding a solution for the flooding problem along | ||||||
| 17 | Addison Creek, the Commission lobbied the Metropolitan Water | ||||||
| 18 | Reclamation District of Greater
Chicago to dedicate $150 | ||||||
| 19 | million to address the flooding issue; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Mayor Pasquale was instrumental in building an | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | overpass that alleviated the
traffic delays caused by the Union | ||||||
| 2 | Pacific railroad tracks on the boarder between Bellwood and
| ||||||
| 3 | Melrose Park; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 5 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE | ||||||
| 6 | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate the 25th Avenue | ||||||
| 7 | overpass in Bellwood as the "Mayor Frank A. Pasquale Overpass"; | ||||||
| 8 | and be it further
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation | ||||||
| 10 | is requested to erect at
suitable locations, consistent with | ||||||
| 11 | State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs
| ||||||
| 12 | giving notice of the name of "Mayor Frank A. Pasquale | ||||||
| 13 | Overpass"; and be it further
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
| 15 | presented to the Secretary of the
Illinois Department of | ||||||
| 16 | Transportation and Mayor Pasquale.
