| 2 | WHEREAS, It is necessary to recognize those who are | ||||||
| 3 | dedicated to the betterment of the State of Illinois and their | ||||||
| 4 | communities; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, William Burton "Junior" Waite was born in Spring | ||||||
| 6 | Valley to Burton William and Marie (Cerda) Waite on August 27, | ||||||
| 7 | 1958; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Bill Waite graduated from Hall High School in 1977 | ||||||
| 9 | and Lincoln Tech in Des Moines, Iowa in 1978 as an ASE | ||||||
| 10 | Certified Technician; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Bill Waite was the owner and operator of
Waite's | ||||||
| 12 | Service and Towing Inc. in Cherry; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Bill Waite was known to be a generous and giving | ||||||
| 14 | man and a role model for Cherry and the region; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Bill Waite lost his life from injuries sustained | ||||||
| 16 | in a work related accident on June 23, 2008; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 18 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE | ||||||
| 19 | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate the portion of
| ||||||

| 1 | Interstate 80, near mile marker 84.5, between Utica and Ottawa, | ||||||
| 2 | as "Bill 'Junior' Waite Way"; and be it further
| ||||||
| 3 | RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation

| 4 | is requested to erect at suitable locations, consistent with
| ||||||
| 5 | State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs
| ||||||
| 6 | giving notice of the name "Bill 'Junior' Waite Way"; and be it | ||||||
| 7 | further
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
| ||||||
| 9 | presented to the Secretary of the Department of Transportation | ||||||
| 10 | and the family of
Bill Waite.
