| 1 | HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, During the 96th General Assembly, the School | ||||||
| 3 | Success Task Force was established pursuant to House Joint | ||||||
| 4 | Resolution 5 for the purpose of examining issues and making | ||||||
| 5 | recommendations related to current State Board of Education | ||||||
| 6 | policies regarding suspensions, expulsions, and truancies and | ||||||
| 7 | identifying different strategies and approaches, promoting | ||||||
| 8 | professional development and other learning opportunities, and | ||||||
| 9 | supporting community-based organizations and parents; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Further work is needed on these issues; therefore, | ||||||
| 11 | be it
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 13 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE | ||||||
| 14 | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that the School Success Task Force is | ||||||
| 15 | extended; and be it further
| ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, That one member representing City of Chicago | ||||||
| 17 | School District 299 and appointed by the State Board of | ||||||
| 18 | Education is added to the School Success Task Force; and be it | ||||||
| 19 | further
| ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, That the School Success Task Force shall submit a | ||||||
| 21 | report, as established in its authorizing resolution, before | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | December 31, 2012; and be it further
| ||||||
| 2 | RESOLVED, That with this reporting extension and | ||||||
| 3 | additional member, the School Success Task Force shall continue | ||||||
| 4 | to operate pursuant to its enabling resolution; and be it | ||||||
| 5 | further
| ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 7 | delivered to the State Board of Education.
