2 | BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
3 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE | ||||||
4 | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there is created the Four-day | ||||||
5 | School Week Task Force to study the feasibility of a 4-day | ||||||
6 | school week in school districts in this State; and be it | ||||||
7 | further
| ||||||
8 | RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall consist of the | ||||||
9 | following members, all of whom shall serve without compensation | ||||||
10 | but shall be reimbursed for their reasonable and necessary | ||||||
11 | expenses from funds appropriated for that purpose: | ||||||
12 | (1) a person appointed by an organization representing | ||||||
13 | school principals;

14 | (2) a person appointed by an organization representing | ||||||
15 | school administrators;
| ||||||
16 | (3) a person appointed by an organization representing | ||||||
17 | school business officials;
| ||||||
18 | (4) a person appointed by an organization representing | ||||||
19 | school board members;
| ||||||
20 | (5) a person appointed by an organization representing | ||||||
21 | school teachers;
| ||||||
22 | (6) a person appointed by another organization | ||||||
23 | representing school teachers;
| ||||||
24 | (7) a person appointed by an organization representing |
| |||||||
| |||||||
1 | school transportation providers;
| ||||||
2 | (8) a person appointed by an organization representing | ||||||
3 | regional offices of education;
| ||||||
4 | (9) a person appointed by an organization representing | ||||||
5 | a school district in a city having a population exceeding | ||||||
6 | 500,000; | ||||||
7 | (10) a person appointed by an organization | ||||||
8 | representing the teachers of a school district in a city | ||||||
9 | having a population exceeding 500,000;

10 | (11) a person appointed by an organization responsible | ||||||
11 | for high school athletic competition;
| ||||||
12 | (12) a person appointed by an organization responsible | ||||||
13 | for elementary school athletic competition;
| ||||||
14 | (13) the State Superintendent of Education or his or | ||||||
15 | her designee;
| ||||||
16 | (14) a person appointed by the Speaker of the House;
| ||||||
17 | (15) a person appointed by the Minority Leader of the | ||||||
18 | House;
| ||||||
19 | (16) a person appointed by the President of the Senate; | ||||||
20 | and
| ||||||
21 | (17) a person appointed by the Minority Leader of the | ||||||
22 | Senate; and be it further
| ||||||
23 | RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall meet initially at the | ||||||
24 | call of the Speaker of the House and the President of the | ||||||
25 | Senate, shall select one member as chairperson at its initial |

1 | meeting, shall thereafter meet at the call of the chairperson, | ||||||
2 | shall hold public hearings, shall receive staff assistance from | ||||||
3 | the State Board of Education, and shall report its findings and | ||||||
4 | recommendations concerning a 4-day school week to the House and | ||||||
5 | Senate by filing copies of its report with the Clerk of the | ||||||
6 | House and the Secretary of the Senate on or before January 1, | ||||||
7 | 2010; and that upon filing its report the Task Force is | ||||||
8 | dissolved.
