1 | AN ACT concerning revenue.
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||
2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Illinois Income Tax Act is amended by adding | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
5 | Section 507UU as follows:

6 | (35 ILCS 5/507UU new) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
7 | Sec. 507UU. The State parks checkoff. For taxable years | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
8 | ending on or after December 31, 2010, the Department shall | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
9 | print, on its standard individual income tax form, a provision | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
10 | indicating that, if the taxpayer wishes to contribute to the | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
11 | State Parks Fund, as authorized by this amendatory Act of the | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
12 | 96th General Assembly, then he or she may do so by stating the | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
13 | amount of the contribution (not less than $1) on the return and | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
14 | indicating that the contribution will reduce the taxpayer's | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
15 | refund or increase the amount of payment to accompany the | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
16 | return. The taxpayer's failure to remit any amount of the | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
17 | increased payment reduces the contribution accordingly. This | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
18 | Section does not apply to any amended return.

19 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
20 | becoming law.
