1 AN ACT concerning revenue.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Income Tax Act is amended by adding
5 Section 507UU as follows:
6 (35 ILCS 5/507UU new)
7 Sec. 507UU. The State parks checkoff. For taxable years
8 ending on or after December 31, 2010, the Department shall
9 print, on its standard individual income tax form, a provision
10 indicating that, if the taxpayer wishes to contribute to the
11 State Parks Fund, as authorized by this amendatory Act of the
12 96th General Assembly, then he or she may do so by stating the
13 amount of the contribution (not less than $1) on the return and
14 indicating that the contribution will reduce the taxpayer's
15 refund or increase the amount of payment to accompany the
16 return. The taxpayer's failure to remit any amount of the
17 increased payment reduces the contribution accordingly. This
18 Section does not apply to any amended return.
19 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
20 becoming law.
