AN ACT concerning State government.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Domestic Violence Shelters Act is amended by
adding Section 3.3 as follows:
(20 ILCS 1310/3.3 new)
Sec. 3.3. Priority for pet friendly domestic violence
shelters. The Department shall prioritize funding to domestic
violence shelters and service programs that are equipped to
provide shelter assistance to victims of domestic violence and
their pets over domestic violence shelters and service programs
that are not equipped to provide shelter assistance to victims
of domestic violence and their pets.
