AN ACT concerning transportation.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding
Section 11-1301.9 as follows:
(625 ILCS 5/11-1301.9 new)
Sec. 11-1301.9 . Military plate parking fee exemption.
(a) For purposes of this Section, "special military
registration plate" means a license plate issued under Section
3-609, 3-609.1, 3-620, 3-621, 3-622, 3-623, 3-624, 3-625,
3-626, 3-628, 3-638, 3-642, 3-645, 3-647, 3-649, 3-650, 3-651,
3-664, 3-667, 3-668, 3-669, 3-676, 3-677, 3-680, 3-681, 3-683,
3-686, 3-688, 3-698, or 3-699 of this Code.
(b) A vehicle displaying a special military registration
plate shall be exempt from the payment of fees generated by
parking in a metered space or in a publicly owned parking area.
