Bill Title: Creates the Health Care Providers Identification Act. Requires a health care provider to have identification present and visible on the health care provider's person when treating a patient. Requires the identification to include the health care provider's name, licensed degree, and specialty of the license. Provides that the health care provider shall not have a general description of the health care provider's specialty on the identification. Provides that a "health care provider" includes an individual licensed under the Medical Practice Act of 1987, the Nurse Practice Act, the Illinois Optometric Practice Act of 1987, the Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987, and the Podiatric Medical Practice Act of 1987. Provides that any health care provider who violates the Act shall be reported to the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and may be subject to disciplinary action under the appropriate provisions of the specific Act governing the health care provider's license if the Department determines disciplinary action is necessary.

| 1 | AN ACT concerning regulation.

| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Health | |||||||||||||||||||
| 5 | Care Providers Identification Act.
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 6 | Section 5. Identification requirements.
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 7 | (a) A health care provider shall have identification | |||||||||||||||||||
| 8 | present and visible on the health care provider's person when | |||||||||||||||||||
| 9 | treating a patient. The identification shall include the | |||||||||||||||||||
| 10 | health care provider's name, licensed degree, and specialty of | |||||||||||||||||||
| 11 | the license. The health care provider shall not have a general | |||||||||||||||||||
| 12 | description of the health care provider's specialty on the | |||||||||||||||||||
| 13 | identification.

| 14 | (b) As used in this Act, "health care provider" includes
