Bill Title: Amends the Board of Higher Education Act. Provides that, on or before July 1, 2021, the Board shall create a public institutions of higher education informational application for phones and tablets, and, in the Board's discretion, other electronic devices. Provides that the informational application shall include, but is not limited to, admission procedures, website links, and other information as determined by each public institution of higher education. Provides that each public institution of higher education shall be given access and control of its own content in the informational application and shall be responsible for updating its own information. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning education.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Board of Higher Education Act is amended by
adding Section 9.39 as follows:
(110 ILCS 205/9.39 new)
Sec. 9.39. Public college and university informational
application. On or before July 1, 2021, the Board shall create
a public institutions of higher education informational
application for phones and tablets, and, in the Board's
discretion, other electronic devices. The informational
application shall include, but is not limited to, the following
information concerning each public institution of higher
education:
(1) Admission procedures.
(2) Website link.
(3) Other information as determined by each public
institution of higher education.
Each public institution of higher education shall be given
access and control of its own content in the informational
application and shall be responsible for updating its own
information.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
