Amends the Equal Pay Act of 2003. Requires employers that use unpaid interns to report to the Department of Labor the number of unpaid interns utilized and the percentage of those interns that are offered and accept paid employment with the employer. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning employment.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Equal Pay Act of 2003 is amended by adding
5Section 22 as follows:
6 (820 ILCS 112/22 new)
7 Sec. 22. Report of use of unpaid interns. An employer that
8utilizes the services of unpaid interns shall report to the
9Department annually on November 1 of each year the number of
10unpaid interns utilized and the percentage of those interns
11that are offered and accept paid employment with the employer
12after the conclusion of the internship period. The report shall
13cover the 12-month period ending on September 1 of the year the
14report is filed.
15 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
16becoming law.
