| 1 | AN ACT concerning criminal law.
| ||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by adding | ||||||
| 5 | Section 11-27 as follows:
| ||||||
| 6 | (720 ILCS 5/11-27 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 11-27. Sexual predator; no custody. | ||||||
| 8 | (a) For the purposes of this Section: | ||||||
| 9 | "Minor" means a person who was under 18 years of age at | ||||||
| 10 | the time of the commission of the offense. | ||||||
| 11 | "Sex offense" has the meaning ascribed to it in Section | ||||||
| 12 | 2 of the Sex Offender Registration Act. | ||||||
| 13 | "Sexual predator" has the meaning ascribed to it in | ||||||
| 14 | Section 2 of the Sex Offender Registration Act. | ||||||
| 15 | (b) It is unlawful for a sexual predator to knowingly | ||||||
| 16 | assume custody or control of a minor who was the victim of the | ||||||
| 17 | sex offense committed by the sexual predator. | ||||||
| 18 | (c) Sentence. A violation of this Section is a Class 4 | ||||||
| 19 | felony.
