SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
30 ILCS 805/9.2 new

Amends the State Mandates Act. Provides that the application of every State mandate implemented on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act that necessitates additional expenditures from local government revenues without reimbursement from the State shall be limited to a sunset date of 5 years. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning finance.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The State Mandates Act is amended by adding
5Section 9.2 as follows:
6 (30 ILCS 805/9.2 new)
7 Sec. 9.2. State mandate exemption sunset. Notwithstanding
8any provision of law to the contrary, the application of every
9State mandate implemented on or after the effective date of
10this amendatory Act of the 101st General Assembly that
11necessitates additional expenditures from local government
12revenues without reimbursement from the State shall be limited
13to a sunset date of 5 years.
14 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
15becoming law.
