Bill Title: Amends the Courses of Study Article of the School Code. Requires that a course that provides a student with the education and skills required to obtain a commercial learner's permit or a commercial driver's license be considered by a school district to be a career and technical education course. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning education.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
27-23.17 as follows:
(105 ILCS 5/27-23.17 new)
Sec. 27-23.17. Commercial driver education. A course that
provides a student with the education and skills required to
obtain a commercial learner's permit or a commercial driver's
license shall be considered by a school district to be a career
and technical education course.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
