1 AN ACT concerning transportation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding
5Section 3-699.14 as follows:
6 (625 ILCS 5/3-699.14 new)
7 Sec. 3-699.14. World War II Illinois Veterans Memorial
8license plates.
9 (a) The Secretary, upon receipt of all applicable fees and
10applications made in the form prescribed by the Secretary, may
11issue special registration plates designated as World War II
12Illinois Veterans Memorial license plates. The special plates
13issued under this Section shall be affixed only to passenger
14vehicles of the first division or motor vehicles of the second
15division weighing not more than 8,000 pounds. Plates issued
16under this Section shall expire according to the multi-year
17procedure established by Section 3-414.1 of this Code.
18 (b) The design and color of the special plates shall be
19wholly within the discretion of the Secretary. The Secretary
20may allow the plates to be issued as vanity or personalized
21plates under Section 3-405.1 of this Code. The Secretary shall
22prescribe stickers or decals as provided under Section 3-412 of
23this Code, with the exception that the plates are not required

1to designate "Land of Lincoln".
2 (c) An applicant for the special plate shall be charged a
3$40 fee for original issuance in addition to the appropriate
4registration fee. Of this fee, $25 shall be deposited into the
5World War II Illinois Veterans Memorial Fund and $15 shall be
6deposited into the Secretary of State Special License Plate
7Fund, to be used by the Secretary to help defray the
8administrative processing costs. For each registration renewal
9period, a $27 fee, in addition to the appropriate registration
10fee, shall be charged. Of this fee, $25 shall be deposited into
11the World War II Illinois Veterans Memorial Fund and $2 shall
12be deposited into the Secretary of State Special License Plate
13Fund.
