Bill Title: Amends the Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act. Provides that a member of a county board may not also hold an office of township highway commissioner. Repeals a Section providing that a member of the county board in a county having fewer than 550,000 inhabitants, during the term of office for which he is elected, may also hold the office of township highway commissioner. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning local government.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act is
amended by adding Section 1.4 as follows:
(50 ILCS 105/1.4 new)
Sec. 1.4. County board member as highway commissioner. A
member of a county board may not also hold an office of
township highway commissioner.

Section 10. The Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act is
amended by repealing Section 1.1.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
