20 ILCS 505/7.9 new

Amends the Children and Families Services Act. 1 AN ACT concerning State government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Children and Family Services Act is amended
5by adding Section 7.9 as follows:
6 (20 ILCS 505/7.9 new)
7 Sec. 7.9. New placement restrictions; foster children. No
8child placed in a foster home shall be removed from that foster
9home during the academic school year and placed in another
10foster home or placement type unless a new placement is
11necessary because of an emergency or to safeguard the child's
12health, safety, and best interests.
13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14becoming law.
