Bill Title: Amends the School Code. Provides that a school board shall prohibit any school of the district that has selective admission requirements from requiring a student in a pre-kindergarten program of the district to take a standardized test in order to be admitted to that school. AN ACT concerning education.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections
10-20.73 and 34-18.66 as follows:

Sec. 10-20.73. Selective admissions; standardized testing.
A school board shall prohibit any school of the district that
has selective admission requirements from requiring a student
in a pre-kindergarten program of the district to take a
standardized test in order to be admitted to that school.
