| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4828

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4828 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| 4 | "Section 5. The Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act is | ||||||
| 5 | amended by adding Section 1.4 as follows:
| ||||||
| 6 | (50 ILCS 105/1.4 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 1.4. County board member. Notwithstanding any other | ||||||
| 8 | provision of law to the contrary, during his or her term of | ||||||
| 9 | office, no county board member elected to a term commencing on | ||||||
| 10 | or after January 1, 2015 may hold any other elected office of a | ||||||
| 11 | unit of local government. | ||||||
| 12 | For purposes of this Section, "elected office of a unit of | ||||||
| 13 | local government" means any elected office of any unit of local | ||||||
| 14 | government entitled to receive remuneration and to participate | ||||||
| 15 | in a pension plan.".
