| 1 | AN ACT concerning business.
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | |||||||||||||||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Credit Card Issuance Act is amended by | |||||||||||||||||||
| 5 | changing Section 1a as follows:
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 6 | (815 ILCS 140/1a) (from Ch. 17, par. 6002)

| 7 | Sec. 1a.
No person may be denied a credit card, upon proper
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 8 | application therefor, solely on account of unlawful | |||||||||||||||||||
| 9 | discrimination, as defined
and
and prohibited in Section 4-103 | |||||||||||||||||||
| 10 | of the Illinois Human Rights Act.
No question requesting any | |||||||||||||||||||
| 11 | information
concerning an applicant's marital status shall | |||||||||||||||||||
| 12 | appear on any credit card
application except in connection with | |||||||||||||||||||
| 13 | an application for a joint
account. | |||||||||||||||||||
