Bill Title: Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that in no case shall the resource limit standards of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program exceed the standards specified in a provision of the United States Code, unless expressly required by federal law. Provides that in no case shall categorical eligibility exempting households from these resource limits be granted for any non-cash, in-kind or other benefit, unless expressly required by federal law.

305 ILCS 5/12-4.51 new

1 AN ACT concerning public aid.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5adding Section 12-4.51 as follows:
6 (305 ILCS 5/12-4.51 new)
7 Sec. 12-4.51. SNAP; federal asset limits. In no case shall
8the resource limit standards of the Supplemental Nutrition
9Assistance Program exceed the standards specified in 7 U.S.C.
102014(g)(1), unless expressly required by federal law. In no
11case shall categorical eligibility exempting households from
12these resource limits be granted for any non-cash, in-kind or
13other benefit, unless expressly required by federal law.
