Bill Title: Amends the Peace Officer and Probation Officer Firearm Training Act. Provides that the fee required for an applicant for a retired law enforcement officer concealed carry certification shall be no more than 20% of the fee required under the Firearm Concealed Carry Act for application or renewal for a concealed carry license.

| 1 | AN ACT concerning local government.
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Peace Officer and Probation Officer Firearm | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 5 | Training Act is amended by changing Section 3 as follows:
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 6 | (50 ILCS 710/3) (from Ch. 85, par. 517)
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 7 | Sec. 3. The Board is charged with enforcing this Act and | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 8 | making
inspections to insure compliance with its provisions, | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 9 | and is empowered
to promulgate rules necessary for its | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 10 | administration and enforcement, including those relating to | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 11 | the annual certification of retired law enforcement officers | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 12 | qualified under federal law to carry a concealed weapon.
All | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 13 | units of government
or other agencies
which employ or utilize | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 14 | peace officers, probation officers, or that certify retired law | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 15 | enforcement officers qualified under federal law to carry a | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 16 | concealed weapon, shall cooperate with
the Board by furnishing | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 17 | relevant information which the Board may
require. The fee | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 18 | required for an applicant for a retired law enforcement officer | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 19 | concealed carry certification shall be no more than 20% of the | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 20 | fee required under Section 60 of the Firearm Concealed Carry | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 21 | Act for application or renewal for a concealed carry license. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 22 | The Executive Director of the Board shall report annually, no | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 23 | later
than February 1, to the Board, with copies to the | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

Assembly, the results of

| 2 | inspections and provide other related information and
| ||||||
| 3 | recommendations as it deems proper.
