1 | AN ACT concerning gambling.
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||
2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Video | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
5 | Gambling Referendum Act.
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||
6 | Section 5. Purpose. The purpose of this Act is to seek the | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
7 | advice of the
voters as to
whether video gambling should be | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
8 | allowed in restaurants, bars, fraternal establishments, | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
9 | veterans establishments, and truck stop establishments.

10 | Section 10. Video gambling advisory questions. The | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
11 | following advisory
question shall be submitted to
the
voters of | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
12 | the entire State at the 2010 general primary election:
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||
13 | Should restaurants, bars, fraternal establishments, | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
14 | veterans establishments, and truck stop establishments be | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
15 | allowed to conduct video gambling?
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||
16 | This question shall be placed on a separate ballot. The
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||
17 | votes on
this question shall be recorded as "Yes" or "No".
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||
18 | Section 15. Certification. The State Board of Elections | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
19 | shall immediately
certify
the question to be submitted to the | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
20 | voters of the entire State under Section
10 to the respective | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
21 | county
clerks and to the board of election commissioners, if |

their respective counties.

2 | Section 20. Conflicts. If any provision of this Act | ||||||
3 | conflicts with any other
law,
this Act controls.

4 | Section 90. Repeal. This Act is repealed on July 1, 2010.

5 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
