Bill Title: Amends the School Code. Provides that any involvement by a law enforcement agency in an incident at a school or on school owned or leased property, including any conveyance owned, leased, or used by the school for the transport of students or school personnel, shall be reported monthly to the Illinois State Police by the school district superintendent or his or her designee or other appropriate administrative officer if the school is a nonpublic school. Provides that the State Board of Education shall receive an annual statistical compilation and related data associated with the reporting from the Illinois State Police. Provides that the State Board of Education shall compile this information by school and make it available to the public. Effective July 1, 2024.

AN ACT concerning education.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
22-100 as follows:
(105 ILCS 5/22-100 new)
Sec. 22-100. Reporting law enforcement involvement in
incidents at school.
(a) In this Section, "school" means a public or nonpublic
elementary or secondary school.
(b) Any involvement by a law enforcement agency in an
incident at a school or on school owned or leased property,
including any conveyance owned, leased, or used by the school
for the transport of students or school personnel, shall be
reported monthly to the Illinois State Police, in a form and
manner prescribed by the Illinois State Police, by the school
district superintendent or his or her designee or other
appropriate administrative officer if the school is a
nonpublic school.
(c) The State Board of Education shall receive an annual
statistical compilation and related data associated with the
reporting under subsection (a) from the Illinois State Police.
