1 AN ACT concerning elections.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Election Code is amended by adding Section
51-21 as follows:
6 (10 ILCS 5/1-21 new)
7 Sec. 1-21. Maiden or former name. Notwithstanding any
8provision of law to the contrary, a person registering to vote
9in any election under this Code may include his or her maiden
10or former name, together with his or her current legal name, in
11his or her registered name.
