Bill Title: Amends the Legislative Commission Reorganization Act of 1984. Requires the Architect of the Capitol to take actions necessary to provide for the replacement and unveiling of the Martin Luther King Jr. statue. Provides that prior to the placement of the statue at the Capitol, the Architect of the Capitol shall issue a report detailing his or her actions in identifying a new location on the grounds of the Capitol and a future replacing of the statue. Provides that the report shall be delivered to the Governor and the General Assembly.

AN ACT concerning State government.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Legislative Commission Reorganization Act
of 1984 is amended by adding Section 8A-22 as follows:
(25 ILCS 130/8A-22 new)
Sec. 8A-22. Martin Luther King Jr. statue.
(a) The Architect of the Capitol, at the direction of the
Board of the Office of the Architect of the Capitol, shall take
actions necessary to provide for the replacement and unveiling
of the Martin Luther King Jr. statue within a reasonable period
of time after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the
101st General Assembly.
(b) Prior to the placement of the statue at the Capitol,
the Architect of the Capitol shall issue a report detailing his
or her actions in identifying a new location on the grounds of
the Capitol and a future replacing of the statue. The report
shall be delivered to the Governor and the General Assembly.
